Maptism is a free site of map games at maptism.io, run by one person. In these terms, "I" and "me" mean that person. By playing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Free to play
Every game is free. You can play without an account. I may change or remove games at any time.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. If you make one, use an email address you control and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. The Privacy Policy explains what an account stores and how to delete it.
Fair play
The leaderboards only work if scores are real. These are not allowed.
- Posting scores with bots, scripts, or edited requests.
- Using bugs to inflate a score.
- Picking a display name that is offensive or pretends to be someone else.
I may remove scores, rename players, or close accounts that break these rules. I may do this without warning.
Using the site
Do not try to break the site, overload it, or reach parts of it that are not meant for you. Do not copy the games to run them somewhere else. Sharing links and screenshots is welcome.
Who owns what
The games, the code, and the design belong to the site's operator. So do the Maptism name, mark, and wordmark. Map data belongs to its owners and is used under their licences. Base map data comes from © OpenStreetMap contributors and OpenFreeMap. Hill shading comes from Esri, and country shapes from Natural Earth.
Ads and other sites
The site shows banner ads from Adsterra. I do not write those ads, and showing one is not an endorsement. Anything you do with an advertiser is between you and them. The same goes for any other site a link takes you to.
No guarantees
The site is offered as it is. It may have bugs or go offline. Scores and accounts may be lost. Map data may contain mistakes, and borders and names can be disputed. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss that comes from using the site.
Ending
You can stop using the site at any time. I may end anyone's access if they break these terms.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version goes on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Playing after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's place of residence.
